Housekeeping Lead

Essential Functions: (Detailed tasks, duties and responsibilities)
  1. Performs housekeeping duties utilizing established procedures, policies and standards. Cleans patient rooms and all other areas of the facility as needed and assigned.
  2. Shares in the workload of the team. Adjusts schedule as needed to cover the department.
  3. Provides support for the Plant Operations/Environmental Services Director.
  4. Inspects rooms and public areas to ensure quality standards are met.
  5. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed.
  6. Prioritizes room and area cleaning and updates status of completed work areas.
  7. Collaborates with departments to ensure housekeeping needs are met.
  8. Maintains a clean, neat and safe environment for patients, staff, and the public according to policies and procedures.
    1. Ensures that supplies and equipment necessary to conduct housekeeping services are stored in an organized and efficient manner.
    2. Demonstrates correct and safe technique in the use of equipment according to specific product information.
    3. Follows appropriate procedure for obtaining, returning or cleaning/disposing of equipment and supplies.
    4. Participates in economical utilization of supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
    5. Responsible for handling, transporting and processing trash, medical waste, and linen.
    6. Responsible for maintaining floors, upholstery and other items using specialized cleaning procedures.
  9. Creates housekeeping schedules and work assignments.
  10. Ensures patient and guest concerns are met related to Housekeeping issues.
  11. Responsible for requesting the purchase of equipment and supplies.
  12. Participates in the Quality Improvement activities for Housekeeping.
  13. Is a member of the Emergency Operations Team.
  14. Provides input to the Director regarding staff performance.
  15. Shares in the workload of the team. Adjusts schedule as needed to cover the department.
  16. Extends support and encouragement to new members of the team and ensures appropriate orientation and training is completed.
  17. Meets deadlines and ensures deadlines are met by all members of the team.
  18. Makes a conscious effort to recognize team members and show appreciation.

Minimum Requirements: (Educational and job experience requirements. Knowledge, skills, abilities)
High school graduate or equivalent required
Three years' experience in healthcare environmental services required
One year supervisory experience required
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Must have good interpersonal relationship skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
