Ouptatient Clinic Analysis Clerk

  1. Responsible for the processing of the medical record within the HIM department. Will assure that records and documents - whether in the paper or electronic format are processed in a timely and accurate manner
  2. Analyzes all clinic records with approved analysis guidelines to determine deficiencies using the Cerner electronic health record.
  3. Review documentation and charges from the Allen County Regional Clinic and the Outpatient Surgical Clinics in a timely manner.
  4. Communicates with Physician/ARNP/PA as needed to complete the review process in an accurate manner.
  5. Participates in performance improvement activities as necessary.
  6. Maintains the confidentiality of all patients, doctors, and facility information at all times both while on and off duty.
  7. Actively contributes to the morale and teamwork of the staff and facility and always presenting a positive attitude and patient-minded vision with patient satisfaction as the continuing goal.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: (Educational and job experience requirements. Knowledge, skills, abilities)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One-year clinical chart review/coding/charging is preferred
  • Course work or experience with electronic medical records, medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding, and billing is beneficial
  • Basic computer skills preferred (Window, MS Office, Excel)
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to perform highly detailed work accurately and timely
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
