Director, Home Health/Hospice

  1. Ensures that delivery of service is produced in a timely, accurate and cost effective manner.

  2. Ensures standards for treatment quality and personnel performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize quality.

  3. Ensures fixed assets are preserved. Initiates recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to facility property.

  4. Develops, monitors and reports on operating costs within functional areas. Makes recommendations and implements solutions to cost containment issues.

  5. Ensures orders are produced and followed according to specifications and quality standards are met.

  6. Addresses issues related to safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, etc. Adheres to company policy and administers practices in a fair and equitable manner.

  7. Manages budget and controls expenses effectively.

  8. Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate.

  9. Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.

  10. Participates in hospital-wide quality assurance program.

  11. Ensures policies and procedures are in place and appropriately utilized to maintain department accreditations.

  12. Prepares and manages annual budget.

  13. Plans and coordinates daily activities for department personnel to maximize efficiency and productivity.

  14. Completes timecards for payroll and productivity reports.

  15. Reports medical errors in a timely and accurate manner.

  16. Identifies equipment deficiencies and applies corrective action.

  17. Assists staff when needed to prevent excessive workload and to assist in staffing during employee absences.

  18. Maintains current knowledge of state, federal and local regulations that could affect the operations of the department and the hospital.

  19. Coordinates and integrates services within the department and with other departments.

  20. Provides orientation and inservice education for all persons in the department.

  21. Ensures the safety and comfort of the patients and the health and safety of employees.

  22. Facilitates department meetings and ensures written minutes are available and submitted in a timely manner.

  23. Establishes and maintains a system of administrative records and reports as required.

  24. Effectively uses the EMR and serves as an instructor for all employees in the department. Educates staff on new equipment and procedures.

  25. Serves as a liaison between the department and the hospital.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
Licensed by Kansas State Board of Nursing
BLS required
1-2 years previous management experience preferred. Previous Home Health/Hospice experience required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
