CNA - PRN

Essential Functions: (Detailed tasks, duties and responsibilities)

  1. Provides quality nursing care to patients in an environment that promotes their rights , dignity, freedom of choice and individuality as illustrated by the following:




  1. Provides individualized attention, which encourages each patient's ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.

  2. Provides patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.

  3. Provides adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatment, glucose monitoring, and applying restraints.

  4. Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; specimen collection; recording intake and output information. Protects the personal belongings of each patient, including eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, jewelry, clothing, and any electronics.

  5. Provides care that maintains patient's skin integrity to prevent ulcers, skin tears and other damage by changing incontinent patients, turning, repositioning and by applying moisturizers to fragile skin and other areas.

  6. Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to Registered Nurse.

  7. Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and Electronic Medical Records.

  8. Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.

  9. Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of patients in the delivery of services to them. Interacts with patients in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.

  10. Assists in maintaining a safe, neat clean environment; reports environmental deficiencies to the supervisor/manager such as lighting or equipment problems. Ensure that supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner.

  11. Participates in economical utilization of supplies and ensure that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner.

  12. Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures, including through hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper disposal of soiled materials.

  13. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational offerings; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal network.

  14. HIPPA Competency- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  15. Adheres to Hospital/Nursing Service policies as evidenced by Nurse Manager.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements: (Educational and job experience requirements. Knowledge, skills, abilities)
High School Graduate or GED required
Current Certified Nurse Aide license
BLS required within 30 days of hire
Experience preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
